Technical Committee 1.8 - Mechanical Systems Insulation

Welcome to the homepage of ASHRAE Technical Committee 1.8
entitled Mechnanical Systems Insulation. TC 1.8 is concerned with
the application and performance of thermal and acoustical insulation
systems used on pipes, tanks, equipment and ducts. The committee
activities are separated into three main subcommittees as follows:
- Handbook – Review and
prepare text for Chapter 23 of the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals
- Research – Propose,
coordinate and supervise society sponsored research projects for the
mechanical insulation industry.
- Program - Discuss and review
potential topics for programs at ASHRAE meetings and other training
needs in the mechanical insulation industry.
If you want to get involved with TC 1.8 at the society
level, you can read the pages on this site, attend the ASHRAE meetings,
or contact our committee chair or a subcommittee member.
